There is only one way to make a traditional style timber gate and that’s the right way. We either manufacture our gates from finger-jointed H3 treated timber or from locally grown Macrocarpa because its naturally resistant to insect and fungal attacks. In the case of Macrocarpa the rough sawn timber is carefully air dried for approximately 12 months to ensure dimensional stability. Structural joints are traditional mortise & tenon, then glued and lock-wedged to form an extremely strong and durable frame. Standard size entranceway measure 1300H x 1000W and come in 4 styles: straight top rail, curved top rail, concaved curved top rail, double curved top rail. We can also manufacture entranceway gates in the style and size of existing gates that need replacing. Driveway gates are made to order and again we can match existing styles for gates that need replacing. For clients with heritage properties we can contract our local blacksmith —one of only a handful of professionally trained craftsmen—to make gate hardware in the style of an earlier time.
